Activities
We support the independence of all our residents and encourage them to get involved in some of the many activities on offer at Oakdale. Our activities team provide a daily range of activities and entertainment from visiting singers and animals, through to day trips out in the beautiful local area.
There is plenty of space at Oakdale for our residents to continue with the hobbies they love or try their hand at new ones. Our activities team is always happy to hear suggestions for different activities or for adventures further afield.
The Pamper Room is always popular and is where residents can get their hair or nails done – or just pop in for a chat.

Nutritious food
We know that mealtimes are a favourite part of the day for many of our residents and our in-house chef and his team prepare home-cooked, locally sourced, healthy food for each meal.
The meals are created to be tasty, varied and nutritionally balanced. From the traditional Sunday roasts and fish and chips on a Friday through to more adventurous international dishes, we change the menu regularly to ensure the tastebuds of our residents are kept stimulated. Puddings range from cakes and trifles through to ice-cream sundaes and cooling fruit lollies in the summer months. All residents are baked a cake on their birthday as part of the home’s celebrations.
We ensure that any specific dietary requirements that residents may have are followed and we are happy to produce any special requests for particular dishes.
Residents can enjoy their meals in any of the dining areas, which span over three floors or for a quieter meal, they can be served in their room. Drinks and snacks are provided throughout the day and visitors are always welcome to join their loved one for a meal at Oakdale.

Facilities
Living at Oakdale is friendly and welcoming. As a purpose-built care home, everything has been designed with caregiving in mind and our first-class facilities enable our team to offer 24-hour personalised care.
There are mini communities over each of our three floors with several cosy snug areas where residents can relax and socialise as well as café areas on each floor. The hub of our care home is the bistro and we encourage the family and friends of our residents to call in to enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake with their loved one.
All residents have their own comfortable private bedroom and ensuite wet room within Oakdale and we offer various styles of rooms to suit every taste and budget.
Residents are encouraged to bring in some of their own furniture and possessions to help them settle in from day one.
We have lifts and wheelchair access and beautiful landscaped gardens, which are enjoyed all year round by our residents.

Our team at Oakdale is our best asset. Our dedicated care and support team are not only employed for their skills and experience but also for their compassionate nature and passion for caring for others.
Every day they go out of their way to deliver top-quality, personalised care to our residents as well as ensuring they feel heard and listened to. We understand the importance of creating meaningful moments with our residents and never underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word or a listening ear to help make someone’s day. We understand that everyone has different care needs, which is why we create an individual care plan for each of our residents, which is reviewed regularly.
To keep a keen eye on the overarching health of each resident, we carry out a mini “health MOT” for each individual every month. This includes monitoring blood pressure, weight, nutrition and hydration intake and, just as importantly, how they are feeling through a wellbeing profile. Our team are highly qualified and on-hand 24/7 to respond to the needs of our residents.
